About
I’ve written and acted in various off-off Broadway stage and theater festivals across the country. Favorite performances were with the 24 Hour Plays and my own show,”Tower of Babble” (2004) a one woman auto-biographical account of my experiences working with women in the New York entertainment industry as well as “Charged,”(2009) about a pregnant single mom without health insurance who struggles with credit card debt.
“Tower of Babble” has been called a “smart, likeable, poisonous little show” and of the writing, “Ostrega has an ear for the casual cruelties of the Corporate World.” It remained a Comedy Time Out New York Pick of the Week during it’s run.
I’ve also held many interesting jobs including coaching child actors on Sesame Street and teaching corporate workers to improvise in order to better their inter-personal skills. Currently, I am a Lecturer in acting improvisation to English as a Second Language art students at Pratt Institute and The School of Visual Arts.
Much joy in my life derives from my son Oliver, a co-creation with my very creative and inspiring husband, Dan.
